Anders Mattson

Anders is the owner and founder of AndersMattsonGolf, located at Saratoga Golf Studio in downtown Saratoga Springs, NY. A three-time Northeastern NY PGA Teacher of the Year (2014, 2015 & 2017), Mattson has also been recognized by Golf Digest magazine as one of the “Best Young Teachers in America” (2017 and ’19) and “Best Teachers” in New York State (2016 & 18).
Mattson previously served as the Director of Instruction at Saratoga National Golf Club, where he helped form the Saratoga National Golf Academy. During his tenure at Saratoga National, he coached more than 60 long-term junior students who have competed on the local, regional and national stage, including the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club. Anders focuses on player development programs and providing golfers of all ages and abilities the highest quality educational experience.
An accomplished player, Mattson qualified for the 2019 PGA Professional National Championship, and has won three major championships on the NENY PGA Tour. Mattson earned his Class A certification with the PGA in 2009 and later added certifications with Titleist Performance Institute (TPI Level 3 Certified Golf Professional), AimPoint and TrackMan (Level 2 Certified Professional).

Bob Cain

Clifton Park native Bob Cain returned to Saratoga National Golf Club as Head Teaching Professional in 2016. After graduating from the College of Saint Rose, where he excelled as a member of the golf team, Cain worked at Saratoga National from 2003 through 2007. He then moved to Westchester Country Club where he spent eight years working with kids and developing his teaching and coaching skills.
Cain holds various certifications from the PGA and U.S. Kids Golf. Bob will work with AndersMattsonGolf in many of the Junior Programs and will be a full time instructor in the Winter.
AJ Cavotta

AJ Cavotta comes to the Anders Mattson Junior Golf Academy with a remarkable amateur career: 2020 Section 2 Golfer of the Year , 2020 Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year , 2021 Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year, NE-10 All-star team, Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-Region Team, Saratoga County Amateur Champion.
AJ's transition into professional golf was remarkable. In his debut at Northeastern New York events, he showcased his skills with a stellar 5 under par round at Stockbridge Country Club, clinching a commanding 6-stroke victory.
AJ Cavotta brings his expertise to the Anders Mattson Junior Golf Academy. He plays a vital role in teaching classes and ensuring that all our junior golfers have the right equipment. AJ's proficiency extends to club fitting and skilled club repair techniques, making him a valuable asset to the academy. Additionally, his expertise in utilizing Trackman technology to its fullest potential enhances lessons and group activities, further enriching the learning experience for our students.
Mike Cavotta

With two decades of experience and extensive knowledge in high school and junior golf, Mike Cavotta joins the Anders Mattson Junior Golf Academy team. He earned the title of Section 2 Golf Coach of the Year and played a crucial part in guiding Davis Jensen to victory as the medalist during the 2013 New York State Boys Golf Championship. Mike demonstrates his unwavering commitment through active involvement with the Northeastern New York PGA. He generously dedicates his time to volunteering at events like the Drive Chip and Putt competitions and assumed essential roles as field staff for Junior and Pro Events during the summer of 2021.
A respected educator, Mike's most significant contribution to the golfing community was his proposal to establish Girls Golf in Section 2 as a standalone sport. He presented this proposal to Suburban Council Athletic Directors, outlining essential elements like scoring, match protocols, scheduling, locations, and budget implications. This initiative has since resulted in a remarkable increase in girls' participation and programs in Section 2.
Mike has recently established Next College Golfer, a company dedicated to assisting junior golf families in navigating the complex realm of junior golf. His expertise aids families in comprehensively addressing the crucial components of a strategically planned junior golf journey. Leveraging his extensive 20-year background in high school coaching, Mike also offers valuable guidance on college recruiting and underscores the significance of fostering well-rounded junior golfers.
